How to get started
A quick video demonstration
Online training is a new way to learn, and so we don't want you to get lost trying to figure how to get going! We hope this quick 2-minute video tutorial will show you how to log in from the web, navigate through the course modules, and connect with your peers. And don't worry about saving your progress. That's all automatic!
What technology do I need to be successful?
We recommend that you take the online course using a desktop computer. You will need a set of speakers or headphones. If you do not have access to wifi, we recommend having at least 2 GBs of data on your smartphone.
How do I earn a certificate?
You will receive a certificate upon completion of each lesson in the Family Reunification course, which currently contains four modules. If you did not receive a certificate, please email email@example.com
How long do I have to finish the online course?
Upon registration, you will have 90 days to complete the course and earn your certificate. We strive to provide our students with the best quality of service and care. If you get stuck or need assistance applying for an extension, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
What other courses are available?
We are currently developing 3 additional courses in 2020 with our regional partners: Reuniting children with special needs, Family Preservation, and Fostering / Adoption.
Why is all the training by Agape Children's Ministry?
The Family Reunification Overview course was filmed during a live 5-day workshop in Kenya in collaboration with Agape. Over the next year, we will be developing more courses with other organizations to gain an even broader perspective. We realize not one organization will have all the answers. That's why we are radical about collaboration.
How do I get access to the slides or materials presented in the videos?
We are in the process of building a resource library. If you want to access any of the slides in the videos, please email us at email@example.com
How do I interact with a coach or mentor?
We encourage you to discuss lesson topics from within the training module. To do this, click on the black "Discussion" button on the top right corner of the module. You can also join the online Facebook community where our coaches and mentors are actively engaged in conversations.
What are some challenges when taking online courses?
One of the keys to being a successful online student is self-discipline. Because you are not required to be in class at a specific time you have to be motivated to get the work done on your own. It is important that you establish a schedule of when and how you will get your work done.
Who is sponsoring this training?
1MILLIONHOME developed the JOURNEYHOME online training in collaboration with Agape Children's Ministry and Helping Children Worldwide.
